Overview:
The purpose of the Senior Citizens' group is two-fold. The Group is a way for Senior Citizens to have social interactions within the community, as well as being involved in the community and its events. The group has scheduled programs for many meetings, as well as bus trips, holiday celebrations and other activities. Any Senior Citizen is welcome to become a member (including Senior Citizens from neighboring towns). Dues are currently $15.00 per year and must be paid to participate in trips and special events.
Activities:
- Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month, at noon, at St. Mary's Church Hall on Route 11 in Kirkwood, unless otherwise noted. Everyone is asked to bring a covered-dish or dessert to pass. Coffee, tea, and water are provided. A short business meeting takes place after lunch.
- The August meeting is the town-sponsored Senior Citizens' picnic at 12 noon at St. Mary's Hall, Route 11, Kirkwood. All Senior Citizens are welcome. The meal is fully catered and there is no fee.
- October, November and December meetings are celebration/holiday meetings and are catered. A fee WILL be charged ($10.00–$15.00, depending on the meal).
